The 5mm cadmium sulfide (CdS) photoresistor provides an analog change in resistance based on visible light intensity. Resistance drops from over 1 MΩ in total darkness to a few hundred ohms in bright sunlight, making it ideal for automatic solar garden lamps, streetlights, and camera exposure meters.
